Well, it has officially taken residence in our house for the last week. Today was warm, however, so we threw open the windows to get it the heck out! Poor J-boy is the last to be hit...and thus feels the worse. We are on the up swing though and with a few more days of fresh warm air...our house should be clean and sanitized (especially after I give everything the once over with lysol wipes).
Being salary evidently has a few perks...one of which is the assumption you don't work holidays. No biggy for some of you, but being that my work is open 24/7, this becomes huge. Now as an empathetic boss, I do work some holidays...but since we were not shy volunteers for today at time and three quarters, I bowed out graciously.
So, J boy and K girl and I embarked on an adventure to visit with Nana (to take her to lunch for her birthday next week). We drove 20 minutes to the Oceanside Amtrak station and got to our seats as the train started to roll down the track. At this point, the two ladies J boy and K girl sat across from got looks on their face - "oh no, kids". Something odd occurred though and both kids went strangely silent...I mean not a peep for the 1/2 hour ride to San Juan (yes, I am talking about my two non stop talkers).
We tooled around for the afternoon and then, instead of waiting in the cold for 40 minutes for the next train home, Nana drove us to our car (we got to the car 10 minutes before our train would have left the depot in San Juan).
J boy was disappointed, until I pointed out this meant another train ride on another day.
How has technology improved your Super Bowl Sunday experience?
Sorry, couldn't resist this one. Both my boss and my brother/SIL/mom were affected by technology this Super Bowl. Evidently, the scheduling was a bit shy of the time the actual game took. So, if you Tivo'd or DVR'd the game...well, you missed the best part. This is one of those few times it pays to be behind on technology!
